In-depth discussions and concrete projects

wire 2026 is proving to be a well-attended trade fair with a clear focus on networking, practical applications and new industry requirements. The spotlight is on bespoke solutions, the growing demand for specialised wires, and issues relating to energy and process efficiency.
What has been your experience of wire 2026?
Fritz Uwe Finkernagel: The fair is very well attended, with almost exclusively trade visitors. We are having many in-depth and practical discussions. And, of course, we are receiving numerous congratulations on our 100th anniversary.
Timo Finkernagel: What I find particularly valuable is the exchange with people who work with our products on a daily basis, who literally have them in their hands. At the same time, there are many experts from research and development here, which demonstrates the growing demand for specialised solutions.
What requirements are the main focus?
Fritz Uwe Finkernagel: Many customers approach us with specific requirements, and together we develop bespoke solutions; currently, this increasingly involves special wires for extreme forming processes.
What overarching topics dominate the discussions?
Fritz Uwe Finkernagel: A major topic is energy supply – particularly the issue of affordable, sustainable electricity. Fortunately, we are already very well positioned in this regard, for example through our own photovoltaic system. But we naturally also exchange ideas with other companies in order to continually find new solutions.
Timo Finkernagel: Furthermore, automation and process acceleration are becoming increasingly important. We are already working on specific projects with customers in this area.
What is the composition of the trade fair audience?
Fritz Uwe Finkernagel: Around 80 to 90 per cent of visitors are existing customers. At the same time, we were able to make new contacts and have already secured our first trial orders. We are, of course, particularly pleased about that.
Timo Finkernagel: Of our 20 most important customers, 17 have announced their visit or were already on site. This underlines the importance of the trade fair.
Your verdict on the trade fair?
Fritz Uwe Finkernagel: wire is and remains the key industry gathering.
Looking ahead
Finkernagel will be exhibiting at the trade fair again in 2028. That will be their 17th time.
